Not many people know that in the democratic country, like the United States of America, there is a socialist party. We all know about Republic and Democratic Party, where Obama come from, but we never heard about socialist party. Socialist party is not really well known in the world, but Americans know about this party and some of them follow this organization. One of the famous persons from this party is Harrington.
Born as Edward Michael Harrington, Mike Harrington was one of the socialist leaders in USA. At the first time, he was interested in Catholicism and left wing politics and joined Catholic Worker’s movement. This movement has an extreme understanding about Gospel. Although he joined in this movement, finally he became atheist and followed the Socialist party by Norman Thomas. From this party, he became famous. Edward M Harrington became the famous socialist in USA. Once at the Nixon’s reign, he was in the list of the Nixon’s opponents.
Besides active in the political party, he was a smart person. Mr. Harrington was graduated from Yale Law School, the famous law school in USA. He also loved literature and politics. In 1972, Harrington was chosen as the professor of political science in Queens College. Then in July 31, 1989, he died because of cancer. People knew him as a good socialist in the USA.
